If you use the button which calls the .submit() method, no prompt is shown. I have XP, Vista, Win7 (32 and 64) and they all work fine except this one. Just found this but not sure it will work with IE8.It is something like this that you need. Now I cannot change it so that that client's login autocompletes the password.
