Windows Cannot Open Help And Support Because A System Service Is Not Running

Terminate the following processes if running: helpsvc.exe helphost.exe helpctr.exe Step III - Reinstall Help and Support Click Start, click Run and type cmd.exe, and click OK. Normally what should happen is that when you run this program, Help & Support starts, and you will see three processes running: HelpCtr.exe, HelpSvc.exe, and HelpHost.exe. It is something you should think about doing anyhow. Then again, maybe it did, to some extent.Before I posted this problem, I tried to open Help and Support every way I could, including Start > Search > Information in Help

A different member suggested checking in Services to see if Help & Support is enabled. I used the restore to last month but stilll no luck. Have been leery of it with all the problems I've heard of. Insert your Windows XP CD and point to the i386 folder in the CD.

I did not have an Xp CD only restore CDs. Please try the request again.
